A Lexington man was in serious condition Wednesday after he was knocked off his motorcycle Tuesday night by a driver charged with DUI. Samuel J. Mullins, 23, was riding east on West Maxwell Street when he was struck by a Jaguar driven by Paul Haney, 41, about 11:52 p.m. at South Upper Street. Haney, who police said ran a red light, was charged with first-degree driving under the influence and second-degree assault. He also was charged with driving with an expired license and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found what they suspected to be marijuana and a pipe in his car, according to court records.
Police are reporting a motorcycle crash on Highway 524 in Oldham County last night claimed the life of a Pendleton, Kentucky woman. Oldham County police say 43-year old Janette Weeks was a passenger on a motorcycle when the driver lost control and crashed in the 2800 block of Highway 524 shortly after 7-pm. She died from injuries she suffered in the crash according to the Oldham County Coroner’s office. The driver of the motorcycle, 46-year old Edward Scott Weeks, had minor injuries.

The Glasgow Police Department has reported a car accident involving a automobile and motorcycle last night on Veterans OUter Loop at about 7:30 p.m. The driver, Ricky D. A man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Charlestown, Indiana on State Road 62. Police are reporting that two motorcycles were speeding when one of them crashed into a car at Monroe Street. The motorcyclist killed has been identified as Bryan Tucker, 21, of Charlestown. The person in the car had minor injuries.

WHAS 11 News is reporting that two men are in a Louisville hospital after they suffered critical head injuries in a motorcycle crash. The accident happened at about 5′30 p.m. Saturday at Seven Mile Road and State Highway 111 in Floyd County. Indiana State Police said a group of riders were heading toward Louisville, after a brief stop at the Horseshoe Casino, when one of the motorcycles rear-ended another.
