Two People Killed in Clay County Car Accident

Kentucky State Police are reporting two people, 33-year-old Ronnie G. Hacker of McKee and 31-year-old Elizabeth M. Denman of Big Creek were killed when they collided in an head on collision and were ejected from their vehicles. Police said Hacker’s pickup truck crossed the center line of Ky. 11 in Clay County and struck Denman’s sedan head-on.

“Unfortunately this type of head on collision resulting from a vehicle crossing the center line happens all too often,” says Finis Price, an attorney with Kentucky Lawyers group who handles motor vehicle collisions across the state.  Despite the tremendous grief involved with such a tragic loss it is imperative for the family members to retain an attorney as soon as possible to preserve vital evidence at the scene of the collision and in the vehicles involved.  ”Many people assume the police preserve all of the evidence you need but that simply isn’t the case,” Price says.  There are many cases he’s represented victim’s where the police simply didn’t have the time or manpower to do a proper reconstruction.  Fortunately family members retained Price quickly and he was able to send his expert accident reconstructionist to the scene of the collision within hours of the accident despite it occurring in a rural county. “The evidence he obtained resulted in the correct party being named as the cause of the collision despite the police officer’s erroneous police report,” he reports.
